Episodic Parallel’s part 1
Welcome to Episodic Parallel’s part 1. Just as I have character parallel’s in parts (meaning, there will be more) I have episodic in parts as well. The episodic parallel’s will often contain more than just matching story-lines. They may also include a little character background.
*These are solely my opinion. These parallels are considered positive in my eyes and as I go on, you will see me express how and why I believe they are positive. These in no way are negative against the actors, crew, creators and show runners.

As we see in Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 2, Angel is the shows ‘Big Bad.’ As the season progresses, Angelus emerges which brings a dark side to the character we grew to love as Angel. Angelus uses Acathla, the demon to bring about the end of the world by sucking it into hell.
In Warehouse 13’s second season, HG uses the Minoan Trident to bring about the end of the world with an ice age.
We saw both Angel and Helena go through an event that swayed their hearts (Angel doesn’t really have one) and minds. Angel made love to Buffy, lifting his curse and removing his soul. The transformation was painful for him, but once he reached the brink, he couldn’t come back. Not without Buffy, his love’s help. In Buried (Warehouse 13) Helena’s mind is tricked into a faux reality, where she got to see her daughter, Christina, again. The feeling was so real for her, so emotional, that when it was ripped away (ultimately by Myka) it was like losing her soul. She couldn’t rationalize anymore. Even though ending the world had once been a plan of HG’s, it seemed apparent that HG might turn a new leaf. But this moment in time with Christina was what she needed to be tipped over the edge. However, in the end, the person that brought her back from the edge at the last moment was Myka, her love. Both Buffy and Myka put themselves at risk to not only protect the world, but maybe even save the ones they love.

Buffy, Go Fish - A team of school athletes are going through transitions that will ultimately end their human life. When the team’s coach spikes the air in the sauna, making the team be faster and stronger, several members of the Sunnydale High swim team are skinned alive, and turn into fish.
Warehouse 13, For The Team - A team of school athletes are going through transitions that will ultimately end their human life. A wrestling team spontaneously Combusts due to an artifacts involvement in a power drink.

Season 3 of Buffy we have the Mayor (Richard Wilkins III), who wants power and will destroy Buffy and anyone who gets in his way to get that power. During the course of events, the scooby gang realizes there is only one way to stop him. Blow him up and in the end the high school, too. It really marked an end in a way. It was the place that changed the lives of a handful of people. An emotional end to a place we knew as home for them, for us. We not only lost the school, but lives as well.
Season 3 of Warehouse 13 brings us Walter Sykes, full of hate, will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He destroys the warehouse by blowing it up. Leaving us with a sense of emptiness. The place we called home for these people, and for ourselves, was gone. Maybe even forever. This was a place that changed the lives of a handful of people, that shaped them. Losing the Warehouse was an emotional end. We not only lost the Warehouse, but we lost loved ones as well.
______________
When Tara died, Willow went dark. She was unable to hold onto the humanity she knew. Willow loved Tara so deeply. After their breakup Tara moved out. Eventually, they couldn’t keep apart anymore and Tara returned and the two reconciled. Once it seemed like all was well in the world again, Tara was killed. Tara’s death proved too much for Willow to handle. She turned on everyone, including Giles, her mentor. We got Dark Witch Willow.
Steve and Claudia may not be in love, but they loved each other very deeply. And as we all know, you can love someone deeply without it being romantic. They became friends/family, and then Steve left the Warehouse and it seemed to Claudia that he turned his back on her. He was brought back (after a fashion) in Emily Lake when Claudia learned he was still on her side. This gave Claudia some hope. She felt so much relief and happiness in her heart to know Steve was still on her side. Sadly Steve was taken away from her again, for good. Claudia will most likely alienate herself from everyone, and turn against them in the heat of it all. Including her mentor, Artie.
I don’t feel that Steve will be coming back. I feel like it will cheapen his death and we’ve already had 2 people come back that passed. Steve was also killed by human means, and not supernatural means as was Tara (unlike HG and Mrs. Frederick who were taken by supernatural means). Bringing him back may have a greater price. I also believe that bringing Steve back will mean bringing only 1 side of him back, a dark side. Like Marcus. So just as Willow had to let Tara go, I believe Claudia will have to let Steve go. Who will bring Claudia back from the brink like Xander did with Willow? Hard to say. It could easily be Steve in a meeting place between space and time. Maybe something Artie will set in motion will allow some humanity to slip back into her, allowing Steve (or someone else) to ultimately save her.

To keep my Parallel’s short-ish. I intend to only add so much info into each chapter and part. You may also see some expansions from chapter to chapter on stuff I’ve already touched on.
_____________________
There is one more thing I have been thinking. I realize that my Parallel’s are with Buffy, and not Angel, but something has slipped into my mind, and I can’t shake it. In Angel’s fifth season, Connor returns. But the only one that remembers him is Angel. As per Angel’s agreement with Wolfram and Hart, all of his friends memories were wiped clean of Connor, and everything they had been through with him. But once Wesley follows Angel to Cyvus Vail’s residence, he finds out about a spell that Cyvus cast to protect the memories of the team. Angel was the only one who knew the truth, aside from WF&H. Wesley breaks the spell and their old memories seep back into everyone’s minds, and mix with the fabricated ones.
I am curious to see if somehow the memories of what actually happen during Stand, will eventually seep back into the minds of the people directly affected. If so, will there be an artifact that is responsible, or will it be something else.
This so far is not a parallel since we aren’t that far into the WHverse, but it is a question I cannot wait to have answered.
For now I will have to amend my statement about Steve staying dead. He’s alive, which I find to be really cheap. I have my reasons. And will talk about them more later on, once I’ve gauged what the writers have up their sleeves.
Welcome everyone to Parallels. This is where I break it down for you. I want everyone to remember a few things when reading my parallels.
*These are solely my opinion. These parallels are considered positive in my eyes and as I go on, you will see me express how and why I believe they are positive. These in no way are negative against the actors, crew, creators and show runners.
Now, let’s begin.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Warehouse 13 Parallels - The Characters part 1.
Rupert Giles and Artie Nielson
Rupert Giles - Intelligent, knowledgeable, father figure, dry humor, book savy, fights even if he can’t win, the glue.
Artie Nielson - Intelligent, knowledgeable, father figure, dry humor, book savy, fights even when he can’t win, the glue.
When I watch Warehouse 13 I think about Giles a lot when I see Artie. The way he interacts with his ‘family’ around him. I feel Artie mostly keeps his eyes on Claudia as Giles would Buffy, but Buffy and Claudia are not my parallel. Artie’s focus is to be the basin of knowledge for them on all things artifacts, as Giles usually was on all things demons and vampires. They turn to Artie as the Scoobies turned to Giles.
Willow Rosenberg and Claudia Donovan
Willow Rosenberg - Intelligent, tech savvy, insecure, geek goddess.
Claudia Donovan - Intelligent, tech savvy, insecure, geek goddess.
Xander Harris and Pete Lattimer
Xander Harris - Heart of the team, joker/comedian, insightful, probably fell asleep during class.
Pete Lattimer - Heart of the team, joker, insightful, may have been at wrestling practice instead of class.
Buffy Summers and Myka Bering
Buffy Summers - strong, independent yet still needs the people around her. Leaves when times get tough and the world feels like it’s all on her. Always comes back, stronger. Does what needs to be done.
Myka Bering - strong, independent yet loves the family that’s been built around her. Will leave if she feels responsible for negative situations arising around her. Will come back, stronger. Does what needs to be done.
Buffy may be a slayer, and her strength be of a supernatural decent, but it doesn’t mean that Myka cannot be compared to her. The thing I loved most about Buffy was her ability to overcome the situation at hand. She may never have been book smart, but if you go back and watch Buffy, you will be amazed at how truly intelligent she was. She reminds me a lot of Myka or vice versa if you will. Myka is tough, strong willed, she’s a fighter and she’s intelligent. Myka may not be filled with the strength of a Slayer, but she has her own set of skills that allow her to fight and win. Buffy had to be stronger because demons and vampires were stronger. But in Myka’s world, though it has supernatural items, there aren’t supernatural beings (or are there) and so her strength is matched equally with the people she comes against. She can fight, and when she must, she will. And she will win. Buffy would protect the people around her, put herself in danger to solve the problem before allowing anything to happen to her friends, family, and people in general. Myka is the same way. She will be the one in the middle of it all if it means protecting the people.
Tara Maclay and Leena
Tara Maclay - Kind, caring, would-be mother figure, light hearted, intuitive, doesn’t let the darkness in.
Leena - Kind, caring, would-be mother figure, light hearted, intuitive, doesn’t let the darkness in.
Angel/Spike and Helena G Wells
Angel - Loves Buffy to no end, strong, intelligent, intuitive, had to give in to the dark side but once back, does everything he possibly can to seek redemption.
Spike - Loves Buffy to no end, strong. Soft interior masked by a darker exterior from his past, and his path with Dru. Wants to seek redemption on his own. Wants to be good. Wants to be loved. Sacrificed himself for Buffy, the potentials, friends, the world.
HG - Loves Myka to no end, strong, Intelligent, intuitive. The pain inside of her returns her to her dark side, but once brought back, will ask forgiveness. Will feel remorse, sadness. Wants to fit in, to be loved. Will protect Myka and sacrifice herself to save her, the warehouse, the world if needed.
I wasn’t able to match HG with just Angel or Spike alone. As far as I see it, she’s a beautiful mixture of both beings.
The Council and The Regents
The Council - Self righteous, the eyes, the ears, the leaders. What they say goes, they control everything, they can manipulate things, people, situations to their advantage. Still need to be saved, protected.
The Regents - Self righteous, the eyes, the ears, the leaders. What they say goes, they control everything, they can manipulate things, people, situations to their advantage. Still need to be saved, protected.
__________
The very fact that I see Xander and Buffy when I see Pete and Myka proves to me that what they will always have is a very, very strong bond, as friends. Xander/Pete may want to go there, but Buffy/Myka do not feel the same way.
There are many more parallel’s that I will share with you. But this is part 1, the characters. There are characters I have left out for now, that I will possibly get to in the future.
Joss Whedon’s gift to us was that he was able to take a large cast and give each character a personality to match a viewer. His character builds were a work of art and was sure to make us hurt when the characters hurt. We truly loved each and every one of them, even when they were being annoying, self righteous or stubborn. If the Warehouse camp can draw from this, then I think they should. Giving the viewers a chance to have a character that they can connect with is the most important part of a show. And since Joss and camp already laid out these amazing characters/personalities for us, why not draw from them? These characters worked so well, and we all love and miss them so much. Now in Warehouse 13, we can find them again, deep inside a new set of individuals.
There is more to each character I have listed that shows parallel’s between them. But I would like to expand on them as I go chapter, to chapter.
*Please be aware I do believe the WH13 characters do have their own personalities.
Keep an eye out for Chapter 2 - episodic parallel’s.

30 Days of Warehouse 13
Day 11 - Favorite Team-up Artie and Claudia
My favorite team up is Artie and Claudia. I would love to see them more often. Most people go with Myka and Pete. As much as I do like them I find Pete sometimes to be over the top. Sometimes he is great, but others, I just feel annoyed. Artie and Claudia bring the right amount of comedy with this great family dynamic.
I think she is the first teenage character in a TV drama that I’ve actually liked.
You’re not alone. She is just the funniest person on tv right now. Whomever writes for her is genius, but she herself is comedic gold. - BG
That is not how she will want to remember him, have him living but really be dead inside. I feel so bad for Claudia to have to go through such a hard time. I’m having so many feelings for her. :( I know she’ll end up making the right decision, but I look forward to her journey, her struggle. I think this whole situation is going to mature her even more. It might be a step closer to preparing her to be the Warehouse’s caretaker one day. Hopefully one day LONG into the future.
